Professional Affiliations

Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
The BBS is responsible for consumer protection through the regulation of Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT); Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW); Licensed Educational Psychologists (LEP); MFT Interns; and Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASW) in the State of California. It is one of the boards within the California Department of Consumer Affairs.

American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists
The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) is the professional association for the field of marriage and family therapy. We represent the professional interests of more than 23,000 marriage and family therapists throughout the United States, Canada and abroad.

California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists
CAMFT is an independent professional organization representing the interests of licensed marriage and family therapists. It is dedicated to advancing the profession as an art and a science, to maintaining high standards of professional ethics, to upholding the qualifications for the profession and to expanding the recognition and awareness of the profession.

San Diego Association of Marriage and Family Therapists
SDAMFT is a local chapter involving therapists in San Diego for ongoing training, support and referrals. Membership is contingent upon being affiliated with the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
